The organization’s Global Summit on Regenerative Agriculture will gather its membership, which represents a cross-section of the global food supply chain, to advance the adoption of regenerative agriculture practices.
Washington, D.C., May 12, 2023 –
Leading Harvest, a nonprofit agriculture sustainability organization, today announced it will host an inaugural Global Summit on Regenerative Agriculture, June 27-29, in Chicago. The inaugural Summit will bring together the organization’s global membership, representing almost 3 million acres in farmland management across the U.S. and Australia, for the first time to advance sustainable agriculture objectives and scale collective impact.
The invitation-only event will serve as an action-oriented working session focused on identifying obstacles and opportunities in scaling collective impact through regenerative agriculture. Over the course of the Summit, Leading Harvest will facilitate dialogue between a diverse cross-section of the supply chain including agriculture fund managers, producers, retailers, consumer product companies, and more, with the goal to create actionable, collective strategies and objectives.
Following the event, Leading Harvest will publish a public report with the group’s high-level findings around the implementation of regenerative agriculture at scale, strategies for verification, and continuous improvement of regenerative outcomes.
“Leading Harvest’s Global Summit on Regenerative Agriculture will be the place for sustainability leaders to accelerate progress in scaling sustainable and regenerative supply chains,” said Kenny Fahey, Leading Harvest President and CEO. “Our vision for this historic meeting of minds is to facilitate conversations that will break down the barriers and silos that are slowing the progress of regenerative agriculture adoption. With such an impressive and diverse group of leaders at the table, we are excited to be able to turn high-level sustainability commitments into action, initiatives, and real outcomes.”
Leading Harvest’s Global Summit on Regenerative Agriculture is initially sponsored by AgIS Capital LLC, Cottonwood Ag Management, Manulife Investment Management, Nutrien Ag Solutions, Nuveen Natural Capital, PGIM Real Estate – Agricultural Investments, UBS Farmland Investors LLC, and Peoples Company.
